Catalog and Appendices Download Tips
This secrtion provides detailed instructions if you are having problems downloading our PDF files such as Catalogs, art Aopendices, and the Price List. We've also compiled a list of some of the most popular, as well as some of the most useful, shareware and freeware we've come across. From Adobe Acrobat to Stuffit Expander, we've included everything that will help ensure efficient completion of your next project with us.
- Adobe Acrobat Reader (PDF Software)
Download and view PDF (Portable Document Format) files with Adobe Acrobat Reader 8. Adobe offers this product free of charge. Also comes with a plug-in for your Web browser that allows you to view Acrobat documents on the Web.This is required to read Product Catalogs and the Price List.
To download the Catalogs or Art Appendices, you will need Adobe's Acrobat Reader to read the PDF files. We recommend the latest Version 8, which will work with Windows XP/NT/2000 or Mac OS X 10.2.8 or higher. If you do not already have it, you can get it free by downloading it from the site Adobe Reader 8 Download and then following the directions on that site for installing it.. Reader version 7 also works well. If you have Adobe Reader Version 5.0 or 6.0.1, you can still download most documents on this site but you may have have longer download times and possibly problems with the larger Catalogs. All documents to be downloaded on this site are smaller than 3 Mbytes (about 20-25 pages), and most are smaller than 1 Mbyte.
If you have installed Adobe Reader 8, we recommend you configure it for fast web downloading (not just for this site, but for downloading PDF documents from other internet sites and e-mails).To do this, first display the Adobe Reader screen (click on the Adobe Reader 8 icon),then click on the "Edit" pull-down menu on the top bar, then click on "Preferences" at the bottom of the menu, and finally click on the "internet" Category (8th item down) on the new menu. Then check the "Allow Fast Webview" box and the "Allow speculative downloading in the background" box. DO NOT check the "Display PDF in browser" box. Finally select your connection speed (this can be approximate), and click "OK". Unless Reader is configured in this way, it will take much longer and you may have problems downloading the Catalogs on this site. These settings will also speed up downloads from other sites as well.
If it takes too long to download a Catalog due to slow connection speeds (less than 112 KBPS), go to the Product Line Ordering link on the "Go To" pulldown menu at the very bottom of this page, which leads you to a section where each Catalog can be downloaded in 4 or 5 smaller sections that can be individually saved so you can get the entire Catalog (see last paragraph on this page). If you cannot download the Catalogs at all, you can still order a sign or plaque by referencing the MXXX number of the product you want in the Product Gallery (also on the "pulldown menu) and then send an email or use the Request an Estimate form (also on the pulldown menu) to state your text and any changes you want.
